Dukan diet : a french method to lose weightDukan Diet : lose weight naturally ! Losing weight in a context of abundance is not natural, painful and often depressing. The Dukan diet aims at losing weight naturally and permanently, with a return to the early man food habits with 100 different kind of food : 72 from animal / 28 from vegetal origins. And this offer comes with magical words: "All you can eat". Basics of the diet : Protein intake is the key element of the diet. Firstly, because the pure proteins are low in calories, and tend to reduce appetite. Their uptake by our bodies also resulted in a high caloric expenditure. Moreover, they allow weight loss without muscle wasting.
The Dukan diet is very interesting because it takes place over a long period, as a result it should help you avoiding weight gain when returning to a normal diet and to avoid the famous « yo-yo ». This diet is safe, consisting of natural elements. Specifically, how can you lose weight with the Dukan diet ? This diet is divided in 4 parts : 1) Part 1 (« the kick off ») The first phase of the scheme is agressive : during three, five, seven or ten days, it is only allowed to eat food rich in animal protein (one of the 72 food recommended by Dr. Dukan) : Meat, poultry without skin, lean ham, fish, seafood, and dairy products to 0% can be consumed at will. All other food is forbidden. This early stage ensures rapid weight loss, which gives motivation to go on. A risk of deficiency, and fatigue could occur however during this restrictive period. Sample meals: Breakfast Dukan: Coffee or tea 1 or 2 thin yoghurt or 200 g of cheese 1 slice of turkey or ham fat or a boiled egg Lunch Dukan: Entry protein (surimi, crab, salmon, chicken livers, hard boiled eggs ...) A flat-protein meat (veal, beef), poultry (turkey, chicken) or fish or shellfish (mussels Jacques scallops, crab, crab ...). A dessert yogurt or cottage cheese Dinner Dukan: tuna rillettes, roasted chicken, oysters ... 2) Phase 2 (« the cruise ») The second phase is not as drastic as it is gradually adding vegetables to proteins. Dr. Dukan prescribes a list of 28 vegetables allowed. Starches are still prohibited. The second phase alternates eating pure protein (PP) and made with vegetable protein (PL), and til you reach the desired weight. For a losing less than ten pounds, just alternate three days PP and three days PL. For a loss of more than twenty pounds must rotate five days PP and five days PL. 3) Phase 3 (« consolidation ») The phase of "consolidation" allows a gradual return to a normal diet. Food and fun are gradually coming back. Two meals "Gala" are allowed per week. This phase is crucial because it is essential to avoid the famous « yo-yo ». The duration of this phase of "consolidation" depends on the number of pounds lost: ten days per kilo lost. 4) Phase 4 (« stabilization ») Finally, the phase of "stabilization" allows, to obtain a stable weight. For that two rules remain. Every Thursday, the meals should consist of protein. The second rule requires taking three tablespoons of oat bran per day (intake of soluble fiber).These good eating habits have to be kept throughout your life. This phase is both the easiest and most essential part of the method to lose weight because 95% of people who diet regain weight afterwards.
